How old do I have to be?

All Starfish projects are open to anyone aged 18 to 80. You must ensure you organise the relevant insurance cover for your time with us.

Do I need a visa?

We receive volunteers from all over the world and Thailand’s entry visa requirements change from country to country. Please check the Thai Embassy website in your country for more information.

Do I have to be a British citizen?

Applications are welcomed from British and non-British citizens alike. Non-British citizens will be required to demonstrate competency in English, usually by telephone interview. Additionally, non-British citizens who wish to take part in a Teaching Venture will need to demonstrate fluency in English and ideally possess an English language qualification.

What is a CRB certificate?

A criminal records check provided by the Criminal Records Bureau. All Starfish Volunteers need to obtain to a certificate.

How do I obtain a CRB certificate?
