Medical Volunteer Work

Starfish medical volunteers work in Surin, NE Thailand. Volunteers work in Surin’s rural community clinics, child care centres and Starfish organises its own outreach program with the cooperation of Surins’ Department of Public Health and village leaders.

Our aim is to support the rural people of Thailand through providing medical care throughout the year. Along with volunteers assisting existing medical services our outreach programs bring care to the door of the most needy.

Thailand rural poor have very little or no access to alternative treatments such as therapy. Recent physical therapist volunteers enabled a man suffering from a stroke to walk after being bed ridden for two years. We need to hear from more physical therapists who make an unbelievable difference to some of the poorest people in Thailand.

We also welcome medical and nursing students, our clinical placements are ideal for elective work placements or student internships.
